One of my best friends in Colorado is a quilter, and she has a quilting machine, too. She designed and made a very special, one of a kind, quilt for my husband and me, and it acts as a spread on our bed. I'm thinking it might be good to corrospond via e-mail, since I'm really enjoying talking with you. :-)

I miss the South sometimes, but there are mountains very close to me here. I'm also 58, but in a lot of ways my life started at 50, when I fell in love with the man who brought me out here. Life is always an adventure and most of the time things change where you were before you are ever able to try to go back.

My book is about a mythical small town in Alabama, where "nothing is what it seems." My serial killer is odd, but not actually a serial killer in that he is more of an opportunist who is able to rationalize the removal of those who are inconveriently in his way. He doesn't plan his crimes and he takes no pleasure in the act itself. Charlie/Charlene is one odd dude, though. I found my other villian, my fanatic, even more interesting to recreate, requiring more of my actual background than Charlie. You would probably find Beaufort Falls very interesting.

From what I have heard about the true sociopath, the infliction of pain upon others is methodical and planned, and may in some ways be an attempt by the sociopath to find a level at which he or she feels some real emotion. I was fortunate and while doing my internship for my MS with sexually molested children I never met the perpetrators, and never encountered a true sociopath. It is a very interesting field of study. I found my deepest interest was in schizophrenia, but I never actually worked in the field after my ten months of internship. I volunteered for the Family Violence Center in Canton GA for 3 1/2 years as their night and weekend shelter director, but once again, I worked with the victims, and avoided the perps like the plague.

I love writing about the unlikely and different, and my actual background is a bit different as well. http://www.beaufortfalls.com/Page2.html My family was a part of Atlanta. Now I'm trying to make sense of this VERY strange LA area.

Have you just finished a book about a serial killer? How did you get into interior decorating?
