- Biography
- I was born in Tulsa, Ok and went to Will Rogers High School . I have two B.S. degrees from the University of Tulsa; one in Social Studies Education and a minor in English, and a B.S. in Nursing. I have been married to Ross for 33 years, and we have 3 children and one grandchild. Our oldest son is in the army in Iraq right now. He is married. Our second son is going to a state college full time and is thinking of being a Pharmacist or a Physician's assistant, and youngest is my daughter who lives in Tulsa and is doing well. I have had many different types of jobs. I worked in my families business for 7 years and retired to care for my children. I worked as a legal secretary, but I am not the world's best typist. I also spent a lot of time substitute teaching. My husband and I spent a lot of time with our children in their school and at church. I finally found a fulltime teaching position and taught World History, Current Events, Yearbook and Creative Writing. I went back to college to get a BSN. I worked in mental health, med-surg , Surgical Recovery Room, and Cardiac Telemetry. I started taking some writing classes in the 80's and kept on writing. I'm a fourth generation Oklahoman, and am probably part Cherokee. My grandmother on my father's side was born in Cherokee Territory, and her father was a doctor and a pharmacist. I love the history of Oklahoma.
- Upcoming Work
- I working on a nonfiction book about diabetes and my family. I'm sending a fiction proposal in the next week for a series of three books to an Avalon Editor who requested the material. I also plan to write a sequel to my book that came out in July of 2008.
